Preventing of Migration.

Today the main topic for our discussions was the migration problem – one of the basic and most important questions fot most of the less developed countries. In the search of a better life, in the search of happienes more and more young people are ready to take the chance to leave their families, their friends, and go to work and live abroad. As a result of that in the last years the gap between the so called “Ritch North” and “Poor South” is getting bigger and bigger… So our task today was at least to try to find, no matter how hard it was, a cure for one of the most horrible diseases of the society of today – migration. During the talks we had discused a lot migration problems in France, Poland, Bulgaria. First we neded to define what is migration and what kind of a migration exists – internal, political, caused by a civil war, etc. The next step was to explain why people want to emigrate from their counties – maybe because of the political regiem, maybe because they were not abe to find a better job, because they want to assure to their children better education and better working conditions… Every person has its own reason and that is why migration problems are so important and complicated.  Finally, we agreed that people migrate more because of their own will, that because of the fact that they feel like refugees in their own country. But how to stop the people to go and work abroad? That was the main question and unfortunatly we couldn’t able to find a satisfacorty answer. For every country the approach has to be diferent if we want it to work. But unfortunately we were not able to find that solution….

Discussion groups.

We discussed the integration problems and integration issues in the different countries. Based on the fact, that in some European countries the migration rate is much higher than in others it comes to big differences between these European countries. We found out, that some countries have problems with migration IN the country, some FROM the country and some ONTO their way from one country into a new country.

The showers.

During the first on-arrival days of our project in the nice little youth hostle in Milow the question that was almost as hot debated as the question whether there exist or do not exist an European Identity, was the following one: “Where is the key?”. Unfortunately hygienic conditions weren’t in the way we expected and wished to be, because usually taking a shower for example is a very private thing.

Since Adam bit into the apple that Eva has offered him, it happened that people are feeling ashamed for their nudity. This is the Christian way of explaining such a natural, widespread feeling of modesty. It could be interesting to research for some explanations from the Muslim position.

In that first youth hostel we stayed, we could choose whether to take a shower in a private cabin (that is actually supposed to be for the group leaders) or to share an open “public” bathroom with three showers with maybe some other female human beings. As it had been a real NO-GO for some of the female participants to have a shower in an unlocked place. For the other female participants this kind of circumstances weren’t optimal but not an issue at all. Since the situation had been like that, the question whether there exist national preferences in that question arose. Here you can read the results of a little research under the female participants of the European Identity project:

For the party of the open shower I heard the following explanations, why they have no problem using this ones together with other girls:

“I don’t care”

“When I’m using it, there is nobody there.”

“It’s easier, you don’t have to wait for the key.”

“I feel comfortable in my body. All women look the same.”

“It’s not a problem to show my body for I practise sport and we do it like that also.”

“I love the public one. I love the space.”

The party against the open shower, that was always asking for the key was argumenting with the following arguments:

“I can not show my body to the people, I am modest.”

“My body is my special world.”

“I want to keep my privacy.”

“It’s a very private thing for me and I don’t want anybody to interrupt me.”

It is open to you to discuss whether this different point of views have something to do with the nationality or the character or maybe with the flower power revolution…
