Arrival in Duisburg.

After the start-up session in Milow it was time to go to Duisburg in the west part of Germany. The bus was leaving at 8.00 a.m. After an hour or so the traffic jams started on autobahn which made us arrive in Duisburg not until 4.30 p.m. When checking in at the hostel Dorm & Dorms it also took a while before we got access to the rooms. The reason was that all of us had to sign a document and agree upon some rules. For instance, we were not allowed to drink or eat anything in our rooms. If any rules were broken one should pay 25 euros in fee. This caused some discussion, but of course a group like ours did not cause any trouble. Therefore no one was charged for breaking any rules. Most of the participants were probably also satisfied with the hostel although it, at the first moment, seemed to have some strict rules. (D.I.)

“What I liked most was the bustrip and what I hate most was the bustrip, because nothing else happened today.”  (Marton)

“I think that the group is well integrated. All the participants are more or less involved, of course some are more seperated than the others. But it was clear from the beginning on, that we would make a project with contradictious characters, and it was also the aim of the project to discuss with persons from totally different backgrounds and point of views about our common issue “European identity”, not to find a solution.” (Stefan)
