Thematische Gruppe
Die Bosporus-Gesellschaft e.V. beteiligt sich an die beiden Gruppen "art&culture" und "tolarance".
"Art and Culture"
The Ecological Movement “Zelenkovac” has established an Ecological Centre in Respublica Srpska, the Serbian part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in the most beautiful nature imaginable. Apart from the ecological goals, the centre is known as an artist colony for young painters, dancers and musicians. While wanting to be a centre open to everybody- the movement is geographically situated in an area that was heavily damaged during the Bosnian wars with lots of casualties from the Muslim, Serbian and Croat population- the activists have to struggle against the nationalist environment and the lack of support from the local authorities. “Zelenkovac” is one of the few possibilities for meeting and recreation of youngsters in the area. The linking with partners not only with other ethnic groups from Bosnia – Herzegovina, but with NGOs from Croatia and Serbia, and the exchange with NGOs from the European Union would help the development and acceptance of the movement and to develop ideas for creative and active leisure activities of young people in the region.
"Tolerance"
One obstacle FYROMacedonia has to overcome on its “way to Europe” is the regulation of the coexistence of the two big ethnic groups of Macedonians and the huge minority of Albanians (not to forget the Roma population). Local youth councils have already been established in FYROMacedonia, and their main goal is to bring youth from different ethnic backgrounds together in common projects. The “Balkan Children Youth Foundation (BCYF)”, situated in Skopje, has been working on several projects on tolerance amongst the ethnic groups in FYROMacedonia and cooperates closely with the Macedonian Agency for Youth and Sports. The Sub-project group on “Tolerance through local participation” will not only include the ethnic groups of FYROMacedonia, Albania and Kosovo, but also participants from Greece and Bulgaria, who can contribute with their experience of establishing local youth councils and the development of tools in order to motivate young people for local participation.
